To celebrate #internationalchefday we would like to introduce you to our Head Chef, Lewis
Lewis, shy, understated, quiet, that is until he lets you in….
We stalked “the big man” as we call him, from social media during the first lockdown. Our brand new kitchen was coming along nicely, but we were quietly panicking that our quest to find the right chef was not going well at all.
Lewis behind the scenes, kept posting the most delicious looking roasts and burgers at pop ups in Brighton that made your mouth water….
The boss contacted him inviting him to a meeting at 180, hoping that the view and sparkly new kitchen would catch his eye. He agreed to do a pop up month or two with us, but his words were “I won’t work for anyone” that was two years ago….
Since then the kitchen led by the incredibly talented young man, still only 23! Has gone from strength to strength. With a modern British offering, the roast dinners have still got our biggest following, “the best roast dinners in Sussex, with the best view” but every other menu lewis designs (after a bit of encouragement, those that know, know) creates a true following very quickly.
His eye for colour and taste never fails to impress even the most connoisseur of diner. His food is without a doubt exceptional.
Lewis lives a very private life outside of work enjoying fishing whenever he can, his girlfriend says his last supper would be a cottage pie!!
